The “Forget Me Not”5 Miler

The “Forget Me Not”5 Miler

5 Mile Run and Walk

On October 18th, 2014, the Telespond Senior Services, along with the Scranton Running Company, will be hosted their  1st Annual ‘Forget Me Not Run’ along the Lackawanna Heritage River Trail. All proceeds  benefit the Day Care and its transportation program. There was a 5K run, 2 mi walk, awards were given out afterwards. It was a family friendly event and treats were served at the end of the race.

We asked the corporate and small business owners to help in the form of sponsorships.  The generosity of event sponsors is critical to Telespond’s mission. Sponsors  support Telespond’s work in numerous ways and their contributions are broadly publicized to show their commitment to those in need by providing a new wheelchair accessible van with a special lift for ease of accessibility.

For 40 years Telespond Senior Services a Non-Profit organization has been serving local families with day to day activities helping the elderly stay in their homes by providing a safe Day Care Facility which provides transportation to and from the location for those who are wheelchair bound and have other physical limitations. Family’s loved ones with Alzheimer’s who would otherwise have to be placed in a nursing home facility. Now, more than ever, families are faced with the hardship of working and taking care of their loved ones. The very successful race was very appropriately named   The “Forget Me Not”5Miler.

We would like to share some of the wonderful pictures of the caring and supportive sponsors and volunteers that contributed so much to Telespond.
